The other day, the water was cut off. They were fixing something down the road, I don't really know, but when it came on again, the water was white. Can anyone tell me why this change has happened.

No expert but it could be chalk.......best to let it run a while and it will clear. Don't think it would be harmful to humans otherwise you would have been warned. (Not good for the local authorities if they poison you and definately not a vote winner!)

Best do a PH test if you intend to do a water change shortly

This has happened in New Zealand a few times when I have switched on the water and it was air bubbles

My thought would be to much air in the line or something. However test it and see what results you get. To see if it is still safe for you fish. You could also let it run for a little bit. This usually allows whatever it is to often run out in less then a minute.

We had that when they repaired the water main - it turned out to be a bit of sealent! I'd get a water filter (something like a britta) & test it after its been filtered
