Hey everyone,
So I was having final thoughts on whether to go for a single gold saum or try it with two other cichlids (Salvini and Jack Dempsey)
From what I have gathered terrors are very trial and error with tankmates, alot of people have had great success with this trio aswell so I am heavily considering it however I wanted to double check with everyone before I end up walking into what could end up going awfully wrong.. I want to try a few techniques in this setup to attempt a smooth long term home for these fish however I'm trying to be extra cautious as the fishes health is what is most important. If you all think that this mix will not even have a chance at co existing then I am more than happy to house the terror on it's own :)

I should mention texas cichlids are also commonly mixed with them aswell? Hmm its really tough to figure out what will go well as they are terrors haha

The first thing I think of is the water hardness but as long as you are around neutral you should be ok.

I supose thing to think about is when you have seen these successful combos, how long were the tanks set up and how old were the fish? If you've seen it on a forum or a youtube channel can you trace through the posts and videos to see if they talk about it more than once? Usualy a good indicator if it worked out long term.

I think ultimately this combination stands as much chance as any other combo with a GT. I dont see the Sal or the JD causing specific problems in the same way GTs do.

My water is usually neutral anyways ( unless I use bogwood ) :)

Cichlid bro's was one of the people I watched and he has one in with two convicts, sal and jd.. He's had it for a year now and the only problems are with the convicts. Another guy was Palmer aquatics who keeps trios with gold sevs and texas cichlids and he has managed it for a few years..
Hmm I'm in two minds :(
