Green Terror!

or

Green Texas!

or

Jack Dempsey!

or a Blue Acara and a Firemouth maybe? ...Blue Acara is probably to weak to mix with a Jewel Cichlid tho.

Keep the Cons as target fish for your center piece...just rehome them when they get big.

hey guys i was thinking adding a salvini and a sengal birch and some dither fish? what do you think

but i realy liek the suggestions you gave but wasnt sure if the tank was big enough?

what about getting a salvini and sengal and one of the ones you said? and i was only planning on keeping one convict also any ideas for bottom dwellers? blue cray?

No i wouldnt do GT and Salvini in that tank...could get ugly!

If you are going for one largish cichlid...literally just go for one and use your cons as dithers.

What is the dimensions? im guessing its 48x18x15?

Just noticed you have only had this tank for less than 2 weeks...you should of cycled first mate....don't add anything else until the tank is cycled.

but dont salvinis only grow to same size as convicts and im thinking of going with a green terror/ or electric jack Dempsey if i can find one.

and ye there about that its inch bigger width and height though and ye only had it running for under 2 weeks but its all mature media and ornaments and about 10 uk G of old tank water. could i get a bigish cichlid and senegal?

I'd say yes.

Salvinis get to around 8" but are highly aggressive...much more so than Cons...more on the standard of a Red Devil and are better off kept with larger fish.

Yeh you could have 1 Cichlid that is maximum 12" and have maybe a plec or a Birchir (not sure on these as i have never kept one)

If you planning on keeping Cons to adult hood you may wants to rethink a little also...they get pretty crazy when they get to about 6" and if thye breed at that size a adult Green Terror or Jack Dempsey would be killed.

cheers 4 the advice, im thinking this stocking

1 jewel
1clown pleco
1 tiger loach
1convict (ill keep the other till they get to big or start breeding)
1 senegal birch
1 jack dempsey or green terror could i get an oscar becasue i heard you need 55 / 75 uk G just for one on its own?
1 catfish? (anyideas what type? )

No i wouldn't get a Oscar...if you ever get the chance to see a fully grown one you'll know why...they are huge!

I prefer JD's and GT's myself anyway...much prettier fish, tougher and just as much personality...plus smaller.

ye m8 thats wat i thought so what do you think of my stocking? plus any ideas on a catfish or sometype of bottom dweller?

How about a synodontis of somesort? The featherfin (eupterus) would probably be best. I know not everybody likes them though.

Another pleco - tiger, gold nugget, snowball, BN? Although not sure I would keep them with a gt or jd...

I'm afraid my knowledge of robust bottom dwellers is limited!
