ye i meant instead of the jewel if it gets to aggressive so would just be convict GT/JD and firemouth

Yeh but that would be 4 ...try it and see, i'm pushing my luck with mine.....just make sure you add dithers/target fish...they are essential to aggressive community's!!

no its 3 im only gonna get GT or JD not both dont think the tank is big enough thats wat the / was meaning and what dither fish would you suggest as ive been told exdons would be good but there hard to find also giant danios are bit to boring for me what you suggest? and how many ?

Ok for open swimming fish (not including your oddballs/bottom dwellers) these could be your options...

Green Terror, Jack Dempsey, Convicts with - Tiger barbs/Silver Dollars/Black Widows
Green Terror or JD, Convicts, Jewel with - Tiger barbs/Silver Dollars/Black Widows
Jewel, Convicts, Salvini, Firemouth with - Tiger barbs/Silver Dollars/Black Widows

i got told that the salvini would be to aggressive as i was thinking of getting one while ago. but i do like the idea of having the 2nd one you said. but would mean getting rid of my jewel
also i think tiger barbs is what i would go for.

so would you say this stocking would be ok

green terror
jack dempsey
convict
tiger barbs ( how many? )
tiger loach
clown pleco
senegal birch
catfish

would that be ok in a 4foot 55 uk G tank?

Yeh sounds good i think maybe loose the random catfish...8 tiger barbs would be good, i have used them loads in the past...just get big guys i tried some small oens with a adult Sev and he ate them...tried some Black Widows that where fully grown (3.5" same size as tiger barbs get) and they were fine.

Salvini would be ok with Cons/Jewels/Firemouth etc...it would boss the tank...just wouldn't work with another aggressive Cichlid...would be a war.

I just swapped my silver dollars for some columbian tetras. They look great, much better than I thought! Big enough not to get eaten by the sev too.

I had tiger barbs for a while once before but they shredded my sailfin's fins so had to go I had 10 as well...

ye ill go with that stocking and not get the catfish. and would tiger barbs go for any of my cichlids? and any other dither i could get?

People will say yes....but it will only be small nips...nothing serious....and trust me the Cichlids will get them back they are gonna be a target fish for a reason

^^ I agree, I wouldn't worry about the cichlids! just keep an eye on your pleco
