in one of my tanks i have this assortment of fish

1 9" female jaguar cichlid.
1 10" male oscar.
1 7" featherfin catfish
1 6.5" clown catfish(syno)
1 5.5" p.delzeri
1 7" clown loach(tried to keep him with the 7 clowns i have in my discus tank but he missed his mate the clown cat had to put him back and he is thriving again)
1 3" spotted raphael cat

these fish are housed in a 400ltr 5ft tank with 2 fluval 404's ph 6.7 lots of curio wood plent of caves and plants the question is have i overstocked the tank taking in to account the two additional external fliters added to the internal box filter that came with the rio 400 all comments wil be apreciated(sp)

400ltrs is just under 100gallons if i am correct?

oscar=13inchs
Jaguar cichlid=14inchs
featherfin catfish=7inchs
clown catfish=6inchs
p.delzeri???
clown loach=10inchs(i think)
spotted rapheal catfish=5inchs

So you'll have about 50inchs of fish roughly when they are all full grown, so you have plenty of space as far as the one inch of fish per gal rule goes although i know very little on many of your fish so i realy couldn't advise what others to put in with them apart from more clown loachs :X .

the clown cat wil grow to 10"

the p delzeri 16"
i think does this affect your first reply?
clown loach 12-15" i have 11-13" ones in another tank

one inch of fish no longer applies if the fish is over 5" long. fish that size have significantly more mass than their smaller equivalents (think: one 10" oscar vs ten 1" neons)

i'd say that even if you aren't overstocked, you're definitely full.

The clowns alone will need a 150 gallon tank at adult size. The Odcar will need 50 gallons, the rest might be fine in their own tank but I'd say you're overstocked.

i only have the 1 clown loach in the tank i am talking about the other clown loach are in my 560ltr tank

i am not adding or looking to add any more fish to this tank i was just looking for other peoples opinions on my 400ltr tankas the fish are all living happily together i was wondering if they will be fine for the long term in this set up or weather id have to move the cats out

ps i forgot

1 9" common pl*c :*)
