hello,

I thinking of having a a total change in scape and I'm hunting around for ideas. Is there a good place to go to view LOTS of good looking freshwater tanks? I'm not bothered about the style as I'm considering anything from fully planted to just rocks.

I've spent considerable time on ratemyfishtank but sadly a lot of those are no better than average.

nice link, thank you!

although they do seem to be far beyond my planting abilities to be able to replicate closely. Will provide some good ideas on position and shapes though.

CHeck out some of the TOTM threads. The photo section of the forum has some nice setups as well if you don't want to look too far from the forums. :p

oh don't worry, I've been through the TOTM and regularly read the Members Pics section.

Shurly your tank didnt look that bad after your holiday that you want 2 rip it out and start again. Or are you just brd of the tank. (i love it)

sadly it went quite drastically downhill. The cabomba died off after initially going beserk and taking over the tank and the dwarf sag at the front has struggled to change from its emersed form to the submerged.

Either going to forget plants entirely and have a very low-maintenece rock/wood scape or start again and really dive into plants to do it properly with a decent substrate.

do it. I would just go beserk. Spend some money and get a good base layer. lots of plants.
Were you running co2 i cant remember

Dive in again! I'm selling off loads of plants atm so will be glad to help you out ;) (I haven't gotten round to listing them yet, but do have many, many different species.) I am actually serious that will be happy to help out, can even draw up some layout suggestions and stuff like that, I love working with plants!

No co2 and wouldn't want to go that route. Would want a low-tech set up. Have a list of suitable plants that I'm thinking about.

thanks Kat, appreciate the offer. It will be a few weeks yet though, thinking of writing a journal once I start. I find plans much MUCH more challenging than fish.
