Tank Ready?

i got a new tank friday and used the water from my established aquarium to help speed up the cycling process.
yesterday i went to my lfs shop to get the water tested and everything was perfect!
but when they test the water does that take into account the new filter to?
anyway im guessing my question is is it ok to put my breeding pair of cichlids in?, which is the reason i bought the tank in the first place?

Just adding the water won't do nowt for the tank,you're best bet is to add some mature media from the other tank to kick start the cycle.

Your water test will show fine has theres nothing in the tank to produce ammonia etc.

Have a read up on the cycling process in the beginners section,i wont advise adding any fish just yet.

btw how big is the tank you want to put cichlids in?

no i sort of new it wouldnt be ready, i was just wondering if they detected that by testing the water thats all, and i have a breeding pair of appistogramma cacatuoides but i wont put them in just yet

by media do you mean sponges and things like that? because my established tanks has a large external filter and the new one has a small internal filter

You should be able to use some of the foam from the external in the new one, just cut to shape. If you have noodles then use a few of these underneath the sponge.

its 2 feet long and 60 litres, its the biggest i could get in the space i have, its for a breeding pair of cacatuoides what do you think?
