Tank Dividing...

I have a 20 gal tank that atm is divided down the centre with a solid piece of glass,so therefore effectively making 2 x 10g,both independant of each other,with separate heaters/filters etc...

Now i'm planning to get my other tank out which is slightely bigger with the intention of splitting this by having it 3/4 - 1/4 instead of half,idea being that the 1/4 side(so around 5 gals) is used for cory fry at newly hatched stage,the other 3/4 side(around 15 gals)to use has grow out tank for when the fry get older...

It you're still awake after that bit My question is what sort of glass can be used has a divider? is it special aquarium glass?

You can use any glass you like, or perspex if you wish.

any glass and basically any thickness as the pressure is displaced equally on both sides or like standbysetting said perspex works aswell as plexi glass only thing with the plexi glass is it will discolour after time but the cheapest i personally would go for thin glass as its less likely to scratch and easily aquired.

im sure you already no but just incase make sure you use aquarium silicone.

theres someone that does perspex sheets cheap on ebay, i am thinking about getting them for my betta tanks

I will have a hunt around tomorrow has regards to perspex or glass,looks like aquarium sealant is probably cheaper to buy online has opposed to lfs.

Just got the tank out of the shed,its on a leak test at the mo

I want to get it sealed up and ready before i put in the cory fry & the masked corys i have in the other tanks.
