the Filter arrives tomorrow (ditched the ugf) so will be putting the media in the juwel filter on my other tank for a while , as you can see iv got 1 little plant in it at the moment lol, only stuck it in there because it had uprooted in the big tank and couldn't be bothered putting it back lol, I'm thinking maybe some rocks and some plants that don't grow very bog, it has an 11 watt light and with the 24ltr i put in that gives 1.7 wpg so not to bad lol

so fire away lads let me know what you think :D

Kev

ps: the air injection will be removed i only added it in there to give some circulation

Can I vote for fake plants? :lol: I think they're the best in corner tanks, but I have no idea why. I know that's a little strange though, lol, so feel free to ignore me. :D

em no :D , i had fake plants in it before and after using real plants in the big tank i wouldn't go back :D , as this is a little corner tank its very easy to work on , can do a water change and bottom clean in about 10 mins if that lol

I think I'd keep it a little sparse, but add some interesting rocks in the middle-ish and one or two more plants to hide the heater.

But, I like minimalistic designs, so...might just be my thing. ^ ^;

How about a peice of bog wood which stands partly up right with a plant such as java fern growing off it and the rest of the tank left bare?

Heres a pic of what i mean

what i would do is get 3 flat rocks and make a little house for your beta, find ones that are nice brownish colors and odd shapes, besides that some ghost or vampire shrimp would realy look good in a small bright tank, they would realy stand out.

what about a couple banna plants? there realy hardy and with the sand and the rock cave you would have a realy tropical look. the betta would love it

thanks for the ideas guys , think i might go with rocks as my other tank has bogwood ..

on another note , does anyone know if you can get smaller heaters that can be adjusted ?? if i could get one small enough to put under the filter that would be ideal as it would make hiding it a bit easier.

here's a picy of it with the filter
