I tried using a Black Bin Liner, And it looks really cool.

I have a blue one... Its really dark on the bottom, and gets lighter as it goes higher up...

I'm using black posterboard behind most of my tanks. Don't even have to tape that on, the HOB filter holds it in place
My 80 gallon doesn't have a backdrop because it's right in front of a window that has reed blinds and that makes a rather nice looking "backdrop"
