I'm looking into getting a T5 fixture along with my T8 strip light on my 29. The T5 is 28watts, one 14watt 6,700K and one 14watt that I can't remember what type it was. I plan on running this with my 20watt T8 fixture with DIY co2. Does anybody think this would be too much and know how many watts the t5 fixture is in t8 terms?

thanks

austin

wattage is concerned with power.. the wattage it says is the wattage it is.. regardless if its a t12, t8, t5.. whatever.

However T5's will penetrate the water better then a T8 and they also have more lumens. Thats what you should be concerned about. Think of it as the T5 are using that wattage better then a T8. Don't look at it as effecting your WPG calculation rule if thats what your thinking.
