Swopping Filters

hi there, i got myself a new fluval 2 and replaced my 2 not so good filters... i put my new filter running and left the 2 old ones off next to it for 24 hours? is this ok or will it still act as another cycle? thanks ps my tank can be seen here http/www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=120062

You need to put some filter media in the new filter from the old one, or leave the others running alongside the newone for a while.
Transfering media is faster.

Or you could run both filters for a couple weeks and then remove the old filter and then just watch your water stats.
