Swamp Wood. How Long?

I have a lovely piece of what the LFS called swamp wood, Im just wondering how long it will take to sink on its own. as at the moment I am having to weigh it down with stones.

Sadly there isn't really a straightforward answer to this. Some wood will sink when dry, other will sink when waterlogged, still others still float when waterlogged. Generally most falls into the middle group and sinks when properly soaked, but that can take a few weeks.
