me and the girlfriend are currently looking at possibly getting surround sound in the living round, problem is the fish tank, and its in the corner of the room where a speaker would go or go close to! i dont think its possible

anyone else have this set up? or considered a similar thing?

thats a good idea.... duh!!!! lol!! sub woofer wouldnt be near the tank, it would just be a speaker

My Sub is about 2 inches away from my cichlid tank.

I often have my music turned up and haven't noticed any difference in the behaviour of the fish

nice one..... will carry on looking into a v good surround sound system.... any ideas?

i love my panasonic.

has a proper connection which flips down for my ipod.
Depends what you want it for really

if you want a really good system the you will be best looking at buying seperate bits. if your lazy like me buy a complete package.

yea. kef do a complete package and with a dvd player with hdmi involved + kef have a good reputation

If you want to get a proper audio surround system don't get a package deal for DVD generally these are quite low end. Yamaha imo makes the best all round recievers/amplifiers whatever you do don't get bose they are pieces of rubbish. On the speakers front I love the Mordaunt short ranges they are worth a look into, I highly reccomend you look in classifieds here and ask a few more Q's to the audiophiles. Kef are quite nice brand they know their shizzle but for me don't really stretch to the quality of the others.

I have one of my rear speakers about 2 feet above my aquarium. I wouldn't worry too much about the proximity of rears if properly secured as they tend to be fairly quiet.

As for a surround sound package I'd recommend Yamaha amps and B&W M1 or Monitor Audio Radius HD as being really good, top quality quality "lifestyle" speakers.

yamaha are very good tons of crisp bass and very claer mid and treble all fully adjustable its all run from a av processor amp and its true sound too but they can be pricey mine cost me £525 6 year ago but they have come down since have a look on ebay mate you wont be dissapointed mate

and your surround speakers are meant to be about 1.8 meters high from the floor for optimum sound but mine aren't lol

or there is bose they are awsome sound too

yea, looked at the yamaha amp website and they look and sound gr8, not to pricey, bout 450 on amazon!! it says about hdmi on it tho, does that mean plays dvds etc? wot can be plugged into the amp eg.... speakers? blu ray player? speakers? sub? etc etc

im new to this but want to get it right
