the "Brand new filter" does not answer the question

I need to know what kind it is. Like "Aquaclear 50" or "whisper 30" and so on.

"the yoyo's are fine, trust me." ? Uhhhhh.... describe this new tank and what is in it please.

another problem is, you said plan for stocking, but went ahead with it.... hmmmm...

And good thing it wasn;t the honey gourmari I was thinking of, this is the one that only gets to 2 inches, yes?

And please, answer me about planting and filtration, describe your stocking of both tank. I'd like to hear (And haven;t checked your profile yet. sorry if it's in there)

Ok, I am getting a new 29 gallon tank an d 30 gallon. The rts is going in the 30 with compatible fish.

The new filter is a tetra whisper filter. I only have three live plants at the moment.

So the stocking is currently

6 neons (for right now)
6 black skirts
6 danios ( for right now)
1 clown pleco
6 corys
1 honey gourami (and yes they are tiny)
1 platy (for now)

The new twenty nine will have:

The neons
the danios
5 platys (including the one in the 29 I have now)
6 panda corys
1 bristle nose pleco

In the thirty gallon there will be:

the rts
2 yoyos (the ones in the twenty nine)
3 cherry shrimp
5 rainbow fish
1 gold nugget pleco
5 corys

The thirty is three feet long.

Both the new twenty nine and thirty will have Tetra Whisper filters. They will be planted. or lightly planted.

I hope this covers your questions. I will get a new photo soon.

so you now have two 29 gallon tanks and a 30, yes?

the 30 a three foot long tank? If so, great. that covers the yoyos and RTBS.
again 6 is the magic number. up it to 6 rainbow fish and 6 corydora cats

the cherry shrimp could become food

so that gives you

29: black skirts and 1 clown plec

29:The neons
the danios
5 platys (including the one in the 29 I have now)
6 panda corys
1 bristle nose pleco

30:
the rts
2 yoyos (the ones in the twenty nine) ---- get one more?

i'm wondering about another fish to go in my tank too, at the moment it's small tetras 2 L001 plecs 4 corys (got 16 over 3 tanks, the other 2 have 6 each, the 4 here stick together but aren't enough to irritate the plecs) n 2 goldfish - odd combination but they live great together. and a rogue male guppy waiting for fry to grow big enough to join him again lol. i've got angels in my other tank so looking for something new, liking the ideas in this topic

Sounds good, decent filtration and none of the fish you listed will hate a bit of water movement. Corys love sand

This looks like a nice little setup, plenty of activity Make sure you have some driftwood for the plec tho, not sure but I think he likes to chew on wood occasionally.

This one is a bit more heavily stocked but not too much I think since all levels in the tank are used. You will probably never see the cherry shrimp, they're really quite small and very timid. The shrimp may even become food for the platys.

This tank looks overstocked to me, depends what you mean by rainbow fish. If they're dwarf rainbow fish (less than 2 inches) it should be ok, but any of the larger rainbows will be too much. Adding a Plec in a heavily stocked tank may be just enough to push things out of balance, plecs are messy at best. At the very least this tank will need more frequent water changes and regular substrate vacs, the corys need a clean substrate to avoid infections.

And since you won't be over stocking, it'll suffice

you could add something else to that first 29. Why not experiment with heavy planting in it first, and get a shoal of something like cherry barbs. you have danios and Rainbow fish, and tetra... but where are the barbs?

just think it'd be nice for you to have another kind of shoaler

You could change the filter now and then and also, Ive heard that some people remove the fish and take out half the water in the tank and fill it back up with fresh water and let it cycle to clear it up. This is just what Ive heard.

Oh the tank isn not cloudy anymore. Turns out the there was something wrong with the filter. So we got a new one and it is now crystal clear.

I hope you used the old filter media and all that jazz to keep the cycle, and used old filter media in the other two tanks to make a cloning process.

Have you already stocked these or is it theoretical? Because 29 in the minimum for a pair of angels.... and I figured you might like a pair.

Well some is theoretical. And yes you read my mind, I would love a pair of angels.

I am adding and rearanging slowly.

Oh and dont worry we did use the old filter media. We got the new filter a couple months ago.
