Hey guys, i was doing my usual check on my water but this time when i checked my ammonia it was at .25. I dont see how this could happen, i did jus clean a filter but i didnt use tap water, only tank water. What could have caused this? Other readings read Nitrite: 0, Nitrate:50 ( alittle high as well, but this is right before i was about to do a water change), pH: 6.2

You desturb crap that is traped in the filter and gravel, which releases small amount of ammonia in to the water, it should hand around long, if your filters are doing there job, test regular just in case.

How long's the tank been up and running?
Did you add anyone new lately?
Are those fish in your sig all full sized?

Tanks been up and running for 3-4 months or so, no one new lately, sorry sig isnt updated theres only one clown loach about 4-5", black shark-4", pleco's-3.5", balas-3.5", oscar-6-7". It really isnt overstocked plenty of room for all of them.

You stated your PH is 6.2... this could be affecting the bacteria from functioning properly... im not going to tell you to increase your ph, as many people here will have my head lol... i've learned that the hard way around here :P

However, i always used API Proper pH 7.0, and it works wonders.
