Sucking Loach And Glass Catfish!

Hi all,
Just a quick one!

Got myself a few new fishies at the weekend, a glass catfish and a pair of golden sucking loach.
The guy in the LFS assured me that the loach's were best kept in pairs and the glass catfish as an individual, due to high aggression towards there own species!
After a bit of research into the best conditions and diet for both fish, a few peoples post's have made me think that he may be wrong.
Some say glass catfish need to be kept in group's or they become very unhappy, and that the sucking loach is best kept individually as there quite territorial.
So I'm now very confused!
Does anyone know who is correct?

For some reason I'm struggling to find decent trustworthy care sheets for these two, if u know of a good site plz let me know!

Oh....will apple snails eat aquarium plants?

I think the 'glass catfish in groups' and the 'sucking loach as indivduals' is the correct way. :good:

Wow really?
Would the glass cats be happy in a group of three?
I cant get too carried away it's only a 55l tank.

I think you should, in all honesty, take all three back; the glass cat can grow to 4"/10cm and need to be in a group of 6+, and the sucking loach can get to a foot as well as becoming quite aggressive as they get older...

You'd be better off with half a dozen otos or pygmy cories or something like that.

What else is in the tank?

Just a really big apple snail and a bamboo shrimp.

I'm not too worried about the size of the loaches, I have a larger pleco/catfish tank they can grow into.
But it looks like one is constantly harassing the other so i think the more dominant one may have to go back to the LFS.
As for the cats 6 is going to be too many i think!

What can i do with this tank?
Is there any predatory fish that can be kept in a tank this size?
My main tank is a river bank style with a mix of gravel and sand, slate caves, rocks, loads of bogwood and plants, housing mostly cats and plecos.
I really want the smaller tank to be totally different.
Any ideas?

lol, i was thinking the same!

I have been looking into it a bit.

But can it really be done in a 55L tank?
and end up with a stable system, that doesn't require monitoring every single day?
