Hi just wondering if sand or gravel is best for an oscar and what decor? I know fairly simple and minimum due to size. would bogwood and fake plants do? Thanks.

IME gravel would be better as they tend 2 pick it up in there mouth clean the excess food (if that is wot there doing lol) and then spit it out again IMO gives them somethink 2 do as for bogwood yeh thats fine plants i wouldnt bother theyll stay in the gravel for literally 5 mins untill the oscars decide they wanna play with them , slat, rocks all good longs they dont empead on the size of the tank 2 much

hope that helped

ive got a mix of slate and pea gravel in the bottom of mine, i did have a pretty looking sand base, but they made sure it didnt stay pretty for long, some plants which the adore dragging about and some half terracotta plant pots-a snooker ball ( dont ask) and some woolen spawning mops
