Well 20,000 gallons are needed for breeding sterlets and at a gallon of dirt every 5 seconds or so (the very fastest) thats ~ 28 (wo)man hours of very fast digging You and your pops could do that in a weekend add 12 hours for the cement and you are set in two or three weekends of coarse for an 8 foot (average) deep pond you need at least 320 square feet but thats not too bad is it.

Just a thought

That would be a laugh!!

Yep I have a 12gallon tank in my room with 22 rudd and i released the 11 goldfish a few months back, some were fantails aswell :D

I'm going to give the tank a good clean sunday or monday take a few pics of them before i release them in a few weeks.

I caught the rudd when they were about 15mm long, the goldfish were slightly larger and had more body to them!!

Ace!! We only have 3 large ones in the pond at the moment but they still managed to produce 22 fry.

Hopefully we'll get more fry this year otherwie I might have to buy some fish for the tank instead, kind of used to have fishies to watch in my room!!

I could always send you a few in a jiffy bag :D....you pay postage.

Puit some water in to please
Think we will have to go look for rudd today ;)
I'll give you my address lol

water costs extra!!

most places will probable stock them, I think we started out with 50 rudd to put in our new fibre glass liner but most died because the balance wasn't right in there.

We didn't go after all Paul, so i went and got our old tank out of the shed , cleaned it all out, washed the gravel, now i'm sat looking at it :/

Not sure ,its not a big one mmmmmmaybe if i fill it up, turn the pump on and think about it

I have 25 rudd :p

Got my tank all swanky and clean now, counted 17 full size snails when I put them back in  .

My sturgeons have vanished ,any sugestions anyone?

 maybe there stuck to the bottom of your koi hiding from you :p

i saw diamond back sturgeon on hols and albino ones, 10 squid for a 6 inch diamond back....if only if we had the pond to match

I saw a load the other day paul in an indoor pond at an lfs, there were five normal Sterlets ranging from 10-20" with one 15" Albino for 130 pounds and two Diamond Backs for 120 pounds each. There was also some Green Sunfish and a Bitterling in with them.

Cat maybe you'll have to stay up and guard your pond at night. :p

If I see that (bleep bleep ) heron going to strangle it :grr:
