Stunning Amazon Biotope.....

Yeah I know everything in Australia wants to kill you. I would still love to visit and go to Kakadu to find some goannas.
Aside from that it would be cool to have a fishing spider in an aquarium and watch it underwater with it's little bubble of air.
We have goannas all over the country, including the southern parts. You just head out into the bush and make sure you don't step on any snakes and then look for the lizards. And avoid perentie goannas. One of the guys in ANGFA got bitten by one and it took a long time to heal and he was on antibiotics during most of that time. Apparently they have hundreds of undescribed species of bacteria in their mouth and if they bite you, it will get infected. :)

I've been bitten before, just not by a wild goanna, it wasn't much fun. I'd love to head northwest and collect my own V. acanthurus, V. pilabrensis, or V. glauteri, all of them are stunning animals.
What's amazing is the advances monitor husbandry over the last 30 years. Humans have finally figure out a way to tame and socialize monitors because we've finaly realized how smart they are. We can now visually recognize when female monitors are ovulating and receptive to courtship which means more captive bred animals available.

That's interesting. I was thinking, "Wow, no big centerpiece fish, just the tetras! How nice!" Then the anaconda showed up.

It's frustrating to me that there are no big pan shots of the tank as a whole, just a few seemingly unconnected closeups. I want to take in the whole thing! I assume, if Snakey lives in there full time, there's a land area too and the entire thing must be enormous. If they just popped into he snake for the video, it could just be a 30 gallon...

My tanks are full of snacks, if one is so inclined. No talking snacks though.
