Hey all i have had an account on here before butcouldnt memba the pword for my email :p
hope everyone is well.

Since my last vist to the forums i have aquirred a few guppies wich have ben going at it like rabits!
struggling a little bit now and wondering how hard it is to find a petshop that wll take thgppies off my hands,or should i just set up a new tank and kep them all male/female in each tank.

Is there another way to stp them breeding?

Or will they jus stop breeding whethere isnt enough room..... something tells me not!

Thanks all in advance!

Greg

LOL they will just keep breeding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you get to many they will polluate their self with ammonia and other wast products, so need to do water changes of course.

Shot will take guppies of a good size but they will normaly swap or fish ot drygoods

Guppies will only stop breeding when they die, and even then they would have left enough of their genetic material to ensure that more breeding will continue when they pass on to the happy perpetual guppy orgy in the sky...

If you had purchased all female guppies and removed all the fry, then they stop breeding after about 5 months. If you had purchased all male guppies, well then, no breeding there, but they still may try. :fun: I've had guppies try mating with the strangest bedfellows. Tetras, rasboras, male guppies, platies, swordtails, mollies (all sexes) Have never kept guppies with anything larger, but I'm sure they'd try it with angelfish if they had a mind to.

llj :)

mmm might try n keep themtill hey come a good size then swap em at the LFS inthe mean time im going to set up a new tank get it cycling and split up the parents, castration not an option? :p if i made him pay child benefits he would stop. gppies remind me of some of the people tht live in the flats near me :) thanks fothe help o btw what is a 'good' size :) thnx

Best bet is to keep them with...any other fish really, except for maybe ottos. :D Just about anything besides a guppy will eat guppy fry, even something as teeny as a Neon. If you have plants in your tank one or two of the smarter/warier ones might make it to adulthood, but it should be a managable number.

i hearn shrimp are preety good forms of contraception :p what ones would you guys reccomend?
