Stocking Suggestions

hello people

im just trying to think of a good fish to have as a centerpiece be it a single larger fish or a small shoal or pair, id like something fairly colourful.

the tank is 200 litres
2 x fluval 205 filters
moderately planted
it is quite a young tank but has always had good parameters

fish so far
5 x zebra danio
6 x diamond tetra
1 x gibby sailfin plec

i reckon i'll probably close to max capacity once everything has reached its full potential mostly due to gibbs but if you could think i could get something just to inject a bit of colour any suggestions would be cool . cheers

Hi I would not keep the gibbi as he will grow to roughly half the length of the tank and longer than the tank is wide. Its not fair to keep him in the tank really. There are tons of plecs that get to a suitable size for a 200 liter tank and its not really fair on him to keep him in a 200 liter tank they need tanks larger than 400 liters - I would look for a new home for the gibbi and get a smaller plec, I mean if you want a plec that is a feature fish go for it and get something like an L75 para pleco or an L102 inspector plec or both at the end of the day if you want to set up a tank that will get the most out of plecs go for it but dont keep a giant in a "small" tank. I would also up your schooling numbers to about 10 of each maybe even 15 of the danios.

Celebes Rainbowfish (a group 6+ with two/three females per male) could be great colourful spectacle to add to the tank once it has matured and conditions are pretty stable...

These guys have a sensitive reputation, but their colouring and displaying is amazing, more so in the flesh when a group were at Aquajardin some months ago (when my setup was nowhere near ready for them).
