Stocking Questions

Hi so I've had this 30 gallon tank set up for about a year now and I currently have:

1 angelfish
1 rainbow shark
1 honey gourami
1 bristlenose pleco
1 blue spotted gourami

All fish get along great in my planted tank, plenty of places to hide, Co2 injected. Was thinking what other kinds of fish could I add? Was preferably thinking another type of gourami, pleco, barb, or shark if possible. Looking for hardy fish that arent sensitive to any water changes, etc. Not considering any tetras, corys, or livebearers atm. Thanks =)

I would recommend a shoal of barbs. Tiger barbs might be too aggressive. Other barbs might work better, but you'd need others to make suggestions.


Cherrys are nice, but they may not be aggressive enough for the angel or shark. The tigers would be tough enough, but might actually fin nip the gourami and angelfish.

There are loads of barbs that you could have. I wouldn't put tigers in with an angel; too much temptation for them!

How about; black ruby, checker, gold, cherry or five banded?

I would second the Black Ruby as well The Five Band are nice too but sometimes hard to find, Panda Barbs are good as well. For something a bit different Dwarf Neon Rainbows would work well.

If you want something for the bottom Dwarf Hoplos would be nice

+1 for the praecox. They're lovely fish.

thanks for suggestions, just bought an opaline gourami today, gona check out any barbs that might do well as well.
