As some of you guys know, my Betta, Fred had been sick for a couple of weeks with some unknown issue that made his belly bloat up really big and he has unfortunately passed away. 
I was left with an 8 gallon tank with nothing in it, so I decided to restock with guppies as they seem somewhat easy to keep and I didn't really want another Betta. I decided to act quickly before the tank un-cycled itself and I went and bought 3 guppies as well as a 'bag of 8-12' shrimp.
I am wondering what people's thoughts are on how many fish I can have in this tank.
I would really like to get 2 more guppies.
So would this be okay in an 8 gallon tank?

and 8-12 shrimp
My tank has gravel substrate and is somewhat planted but I will be adding more plants sooner or later.
