I am going to be setting up my 75 gallon as a community tank. I am rehousing my baby pleco from the 5 gallon it is in as it will obviously outgrow that quickly, but he is doing well in his temporary home.

I want to add a fish that assists my cleaning efforts, specifically algae. I have heard that ottos are good as well as catfish. As I will have some smaller fish, one, are ottos good with them and how big do they get? Two, what are the best type of catfish to get that get along with the little guys, corys or raphaels?

A year ago I had a spotted pictus catfish that ate my danios and one of my other little guys. I ended up taking him back to my lfs and one of the workers there took him home.

I know that no fish takes my place in cleaning the tanks, but a little help is a nice thing! Plus I think they are neat fish as well.

In a 75 gal you would need a herd of ottos  I have 12 in a fifty and they are all quite healthy. They get about 1.5" max and are very peaceful in a community.
Cories are great tank mates as they are probably the most easy to get along with fish i have ever had. You could get a good school of5-6 for your tank and they will not disappoint in either work or entertainment.
Cant speak to raphaels as i have not kept these. HTH :)

Thanks for the info. I think that I will put an otto in my 5 gallon with the neons to help keep it clean once I rehouse the other fish. I never had an oto and wasn't sure how big they got, actually do not even know what they look like.

Corys will be ideal for the new tank!
