Stocking Question..

Another stocking question, i wish there was an easy way of finding these questions out but theres loads of differing opinions...My new list

2 firemouth cichlid
2 salvini cichlid
12 columbian tetra
3 melini corydoras

OR

4 angels
2 salvini
12 tetras as above
3 melini corydoras

4ft tank holding approx 180lt

what is the height of your tank to see if it is tall enough for angels

If the salvini pair up I think there's a fair chance the Angels would get pasted. They are strong enough to take on much tougher fish. But you never know. I'd ask in the New World section, see if anyone else has done the same.

The salvini are a whole different kettle of fish compared to the others in your list and can border on psychotic,

If you definitely want a pair, (personally would just have one) then you are going to have to rethink tankmates

Salvinis may be small but they have all the aggression of the larger central American species,

I'd try 1, alongside either 1x firemouth OR 1 convict and maybe something like a dwarf pike cichlid and then mix in a big group of good sized giant danios to act as target fish and to hopefully prevent the cichlids kicking seven bells out of one another.

The likes of corys and tetra won't last with a fish like this

okies, there are so many choices aghhhhhh, i might just leave out the salvini it seems there too much for even a slight community tank
