Hey guys,

Just wanted some thoughts and ideas on the stocking order for neon tetras, panda cory catfish, and guppies. I have a 29 gallon.

I'm thinking of getting all my neon tetras first incase they're more disease ridden/prone. After they're stable, I'd get some corys. Then the guppies.

Thoughts? Concerns?

My first comment is, that shoaling fish such as all tetras and corydoras catfish should always be acquired as the full intended number. For example, you should aim for 10-12 neon tetras (this number is minimum) and they should be acquired at the same time. They will settle in better in the larger full group, and that means less chance of stress-related issues like ich. Same applies to the cories...a group of 8-9 panda cories is minimum, and acquire them at the same time.

As for which species when, here it does not make any difference. Assuming your tank is cycled, or contains live plants, there should be no issues adding the fish in their respective groups.
