Hi guys I'm looking for some advice I'm getting a 240 ltr tank hopefully the end of this week and i know its going to take a while for it to cycle but looking for advice on stocking it.

Can Discus and Angel fish go together? if so i would love some of them,

I also have 3 panda cories and 6 neon tetras getting transferred over from old tank.

In the old Tank i also have 3 endler guppies I'm guessing these are too small a fish to transfer over to a tank with bigger fish.

The girlfriend really wants a shark in the tank too but i don't think they can go with tetras can they?

An advice would be brill.

Thanks again folks

Is your water hard or soft? What are the pH and nitrate levels of your tap water?

how do i test water hardness and will do a pH and nitrate level when i do a water change on tank :)

You should be able to look up the hardness of your water on your supplier's website. Don't forget that you need to let your tap water stand for 24 hours to get a true pH.

I would forget about discus TBH; they need a much higher temperature than your cories and neons would be happy with. They can be quite a difficult fish to keep, and need a very low nitrate level even if they're tank bred ones that can cope with slightly harder water.

Angels are a possibility although they can eat neons, if they grow to full size, and neons do make up a main part of the diet of wild angels. Having said that, IME, the more inbred 'fancy' varieties, like marbles and long fins don't grow as big as the original wild type angels; I've certainly kept them with my false neons without problems.

aww really like discus too now that I'm moving up to a bigger tank was hoping to move onto the bigger fish lol

Any that you would recommend at all?

Yeah, the trouble with bigger fish is they will eat smaller ones!

Post your water stats, when you have them, and we can suggest some fish for you :)
