Thats my plan in 4 weeks from today. So it will be done in a ten gallon tank.

Try cut up bloods worms aswell for conditioning food. Are you floating the female in the tank with the male, to see how she bar's up?

Don't forget to watch them daily, and one day, when the male attacks the female less, and she starts following him, spawning is about to happen. If the male abandons a nest full of eggs, they are infertile, or he is lazy. Remember to check your temperature, and keep the water thery gently aerated. Too much can harm the fry. Last, I am raising fry. Don't forget to add tank water from long running tanks to the spawning tank for infusoria.

OK... I have spawned twice before. One I had no food for so they fry died and the other produced no eggs.

Also, don't use a paper cup. Use styroam or plastic. Styrofoam is better, less likely to sink. Paper can leach stuff into the water.

If you float the female you can save a lot of time and effort. If she gets vertcial bars on her body, shes interested. If she get horizontal bars she is'nt interested.
