I started my first ever spawn!!! I have my female in a vase in the breeding tank to get ready to breed. I hope this is successful! I put her in there a few minutes ago without the jar and she just ran away. I did not let her get use to it that time. But I hope this is successful! I am breeding a combtail with my 2 2nd to the youngest pair. I am just so exited I had to post! :shout:

I just put them in together with out the vase. She was ready with bright breeding stripes and now she has stress and breeding stripes! Is that normal. I had to dump her out of the vase to get her in the tank. :good: I am just so exited!

you're getting combtails, right? my new boys a combtail (i guess it explans the shorter rays  ) and i adore him. if you have a bunch of fry you dont know what to do with, let me know and if i have room, i may take some off your hands if you wish :good:

Did the male even start building a bubblenest yet? Were they displaying for eachother etc? If not you really shouldn't have released her yet. But good luck anyway.

My female I am hoping will have a lot of eggs. Does it take them a while to start and get going on there nest?

there is not much aggression. Her stress stripes are gone and she has huge breeding stripes. When the male get close her flares but he does not nip or bite at her.

I read that you put the female in and then they make a nest. Thats the way I was trying it because thats what I see on the internet most of the time.

I put her back in the vase. If there is no bubble nest action by 7:00 than I am putting my other male in.

Even though I don't approve of what you're up to, congratulations and hope everything goes well. :good:

I'm def. not an expert but it may take a couple of days. Breeding doesn't just happen overnight. if he doesn't have bubblenest tomorrow try with another male, give hima chance.

I am nervous! *bites nails*. I am happy, exited, but also nervous. I have researched enough on this but I am nervous on how I will be taking care of fry. I am not good with babies :shout:

you should have already started a microworm culture for the babies, or have everything ready for hatching BBS. Do you have any food ready, or what are your plans on feeding?

i thought you didn't want our help or opinions. and you said that you have researched this thoroughly, so i'm sure you know all the answers to your questions.

Does frozen BBS work for fry? Because I have a a pack of those ready for them. I am going to the pet store in about 2 days to get more food. Like micro worms and more BBS.
