Started Over....

are the bristlenose the little silver-gold colored ones that kinda look like loaches? If so, I've had a few of those before too. I've just always used a pleco though. If and when I do get the cory's should I get 2 or more?

well mom called this morning and the molly had her babies........she said she has counted about 10 so far. She said all of the other fish are doing good, so maybe they'll be okay!

baby count is up to 15. she said they are swimming and doing great. none of the other fish are even bothering them. she said she'll keep them well fed so they don't eat them hopefully

Mom called today and said the little guppies are getting bigger and are starting to swim around the tank. she said a molly ate 1 or 2, but isn't really messing with anymore. hopefully they'll continue to grow and live!

Wow...thats great news about the fry.

You were having trouble with the tank initially and yet the molly had the babies?? Wow.. Mollys and other live bearers can abort the pregnancies if they feel that conditions in the water are not right so you really are lucky!!

Best of luck with them!!

Well, I've never went through all of these steps in the cycling process. I've usually just cleaned the tank very good, and let it cycle for a few hours to a day or two. I've never let a tank cycle over 3 days. I've never had a problem with fish dying or anything either? Actually, it was the guppy that had the babies. The molly is pregnant too, but she ate a couple of the new guppy fry. Back when I had guppies a couple of years ago, I didn't have to buy fish for 2 or 3 years because they were always having babies.

I then went to angelfish for about 3 or 4 years and they laid eggs as well. I would always get fry, but they would end up eating them.

Thanks guys!
