hi everyone, its taken three weeks but finally happy with first tank.
i think the slate(from local river) helps the natural look.
started of with fake plants and shipwrecks etc, think it looks tacky imo.
all good now though, tell me what you think. good or bad

looks great great change and looks alot more natural needs some more plants but that is just me

wow nice big looking tank how long is it? Think you still need some more plants or as an idea - cut your pond weed and weight it down at the bottom the new stems should gain some kind of rooting and grow tall again. It looks like you have about 8 stems in each and I think you could make that 20 small stems which will shoot up in a few weeks probs 10 days to 2 weeks. Nice caves built as well :) whats the full stocking on this? Nice looking balas as well :).

didnt realise i could split the plants lol, came tied together and thought they had to be left that way.so i can split them into individual plants? didnt even know what you called them
i have 2 balas, 1 red tail, 10 neons, 6 danios, 1 angel, 1 fighter and the tanks 4ft. the angel is the only one who seemed to struggle bit at the start but seems to be getting used to his tankmates now. :good:

What is the filtration you are using on it ?
my old filter that came with the tank(2nd hand 2 weeks ago) broke at start of the week. ive got fluval 2 plus internal which seems to be coping lovely so far.

Imo if i had a tank that size i would go with an external filter as i find them easier to clean and will move the water around more which youre fish will enjoy and will keep youre tank cleaner for longer :good:

thanks for the advice, have to check around for decent external then, are they hard to set up?

they are really simple. and after setup not only do a better job but look better, (less wires and clutter in the tank) i would go with eheim or if you don't want to spend as much i would say aqua one are good, never heard of them before but i would say maybe such as good as eheim but cheaper.
