Hi all, slightly random question. Got our new 300ltr tank all set up at the weekend and got the lighting going. Now all the past tanks we;ve used have had plastic lids but this has a wooden one of which not the whole thing lifts. Now at the moment the bulbs are just resting on the inner glass cover, but I am thinking of fitting reflectors. Is there a stand that sits on the inner glass cover to allow the reflectors to fit on without coursing issues with the lid, or am I going to have to be creative? due to lifting the lid off for water changes I don't fancy having the bulbs attached to the lid. Or it it just as good to just have them resting on the glass? Cheers

Yeah, just leave the bulbs on the glass and use white vinyl rain gutter as reflectors. If you want you can mount the bulbs inside the gutter.

hiya. mine have been on the glass for several years now with rain gutter covers (from b and q) wrapped in tin foil, as i to have a wooden lid that needs to be taken off.. no problems had here, but mine are set @ either side of the sliding glass lid. so not obtrusive @ all.. :)

So yours run the width of the tank, rather than the length?
