Whew! That last photo - you have a male.

edit - we posted at the same time. I see only the one male, with the orange edge on the caudal. The female with him is early gravid.

looks like the tequilas are nippers… just saw one latch on to one of the bushy nose whiskers, well enough, it was wiggling around… bushy didn’t even really move, and tequila seemed to realize that it was attached, and swam on…

so, this morning there are 2 groups of tequila’s, centered around the 2 males… there is one of the smaller ( just over an inch long ), that has color on his tail, and this morning the 2 males are on opposite sides of the tank, each with 2 females ( or juvinals ) with each…
this is the smaller male… ( along with his reflection on the surface )

the blind cave fish, all seem to have survived the 1st night

a couple 1st morning observations… the blind cave fish are much more aggressive eaters… but by feeding a slowly sinking food, the caves eat on the surface, and the tequila’s eat the micro pellets slowly sinking in mid water…

also the tequila’s will chase the algae cookies to the bottom, and eat on them, off the bottom, until the bushy noses find them…

thinking I can make this work…

so, while the males were on opposite sides of the tank earlier…

at least right now, they appear social, with both males hanging out without any chasing…

the tank has settled and cleared nicely after the well minerals have settled…

may be coincidence, but with a cooler room, and the 2. heaters adjusting, one side is 77 degrees right now, while the opposite side is 74 degrees the fish are currently in the 74 degree side

both the blind caves, and the tequila’s are doing well, no loses so far, and eating well both fines from the 3 mix of flakes I use, and my milled bug bites, and still chasing the algae cookies to the bottom, even though both of these fish seem to like the top layer in this tank…
