I have a Honey Gourami, and whenever I feed him, he spirals to the surface to get the food, and I found recently when doing a water change, he'll spin around the tank randomly when I'm siphoning. This is never a problem when I'm not doing anything in the tank, and I haven't seen anything else that could be a symptom. Is it normal for a gourami to spin when going for good and when I do water changes?

And when I say spin he kind of... spirals I guess. Like kinda around an X axis, as opposed to a y axis.

My Gold Gourami acted similarly before he died. He was weak and would easily get stuck to the filter intakes. Whenever he got too close to a current in the tank he could not control himself and would roll and spin around. He was so weak he couldn't control his swimming or even stabilize. Mine also spent alot of time on the bottom of the tank the week before he died. If everything else is normal with yours, I don't know what it is.
