Hey all, have a couple of species in my tank and would like to know more about their spawning behaviour and eggs please, reason being I have found two different types today and seen unusual behaviour..
The species I have are:
1) Normani Lampeye
2) Galaxy Rasbora
3) Panda Cory
4) Habrosus Cory
I know with cories it is the T-shape etc, I have never witnessed it myself or even the egg laying. My habrosus span the sides of the tank daily but real unusually recently my pandas have been doing so and both types have been super hyper with a lot of activity. I know the look and feel of cory eggs and believe one of the types found was a pandas but the other type is extremely small, could be habrosus but hard to identify.
The Normani Lampeyes when I had a group earlier in the year I ended up with 3 random fry, the only thing I saw was the males flaring and displaying their gills to each other and chasing, never witnessed any spawns or eggs. How small do the eggs tend to get and do these drop eggs or specifically place?
Galaxy Rasboras are completely new to me and my setup having had a good couple of weeks to a month, have no clues on behaviour or eggs, they have been darting all over the place like the normanis as both the species get on together as a large group.
The tank itself is pretty good planted, but the lamps are pretty vicious at getting eggs (as only today found the odd sac). I hope to collect any eggs given but more information would be fantastic
