Sorry If This Is A Stupid Question

Alright so I've currently got 4 tanks running. my husband wants me to cut back on the number of tanks if possible. I'm ok with dropping down a tank or 2 seeing as I'm 34 weeks pregnant, and the only one who does tank maintenance here. I have a bonded pair of angels, a single angel, rope fish, platys, black neons, corydoras, and a bn plec. I've got a 40 gallon that I was going to put the paired angels in, and then put the single angel in their current tank. I'm not worried about the rest of the fish as they pretty much already live together. My question is should I be able to put all 3 angels in together in the 40 gallon or am I risking the single fish? All 3 are only 4 inches long and lived together at one point. If I could do that then I could cut back to 2 tanks rather than 3. So what do you think should they be alright going in together with plants and such?

I don't know, I've never kept angels before (and I'm still pretty new at this) but congrats on the baby!

I wouldnt risk the lone angel as the pair would see him/her as intruding in their terratory, ESPECIALLY when breeding, you may very well loose the single fish.

yeah its like them being all friends at first but then 2 decide to get together and the other one bites the dust, if i was you i woudnt do it.

Yay Another crazy fish mommy. Congrats it's so exciting. My dAughter is 13 months. is this your first? I did a water change while in labour first stage but still.

I would rehome the lone angle. It would be best for him unless you can fit him in the other tank?

Yes she is our first. I'm both excited and completely petrified of becoming a parent but I guess thats normal lol.

I'm trying to rehome all 3 of them for my uncle, but its taking a lot longer than expected. I would take them to the lfs but he would rather I get some sort of cash not store credit for them. I've got a spare 15 gallon I can switch the single fish to or have it stay in the 10 gallon it was sent over in till it finds a new home. The 15 gallon is a standard 15 not a tall one so would the extra 5 gallons really be worth it or should I just keep him as is for now?

Congrats on the baby - I just had my third 2.5 months ago (my god has it been that long already?! Doesn't seem 2 minutes since I was posting saying she was born!) - she was born right next to the fish tank hehe

I would say def get your single angel rehomed - don't put the single in with the pair. Speaking from experience, a pair of angels + a spare one = a dead third angel. You could put an add on here? Whereabouts are you?

While cash is nice, store credit may be preferable to having 3 tanks to maintain with a newborn babe (I only have one, and that got neglected for a month!). It's amazing how much time and energy a baby takes up!

I had my existing Angelfish for about 6 months then introduced another 3, unfortunately 1 died soon after introduction. However it took about 3 months but one of the new ones and my existing one eventually paired up and made the single one's life a living hell as soon as they started spawning, the only place he was allowed to stay was right in the back corner, so I had to take him back. Didn't get anything for him, but at least he's not getting abused now!

I've actuallly got an ad on here. I live in upstate NY. I'm trying to train hubby so they don't get too neglected when she comes, but thats not working out so well..... What about making a divider for the tank so I'm still Only running the 2 tanks and all 3 angels have the space they need?

You could definitely do that - I did that with my tank as my angels wont tollerate anything else with them except a couple of large catfish, so I've got them in one half of the tank and some much smaller fish in the other half. I actually went and bought the bits for the divider on the day I went into labour LOL. If you can find somewhere that does plastic canvas (the kind kids use for learning to do cross stitch etc) that would be perfect and cheaper than a proper divider.
