Something I've Never Seen Before

ok well it's not something absaloutly extraordinary but i've never seen a hillstream loach on a leaf before. i think i scared it somehow and it jumped on the leaf of my amazon sword out of fright but it was great. it sat there long enough for me to get a couple of photos.

i kno but it doesn't look like a loach, it's got no whiskers or anything lol but if its classed as a loach, its a loach

they do have whiskers (aka barbels) but they are pretty hard to see.

they look a bit like vampire fangs on that pic

but your right in the plec reference as its one of the most miss-identified common fish (although there are hundreds of species sold in the trade)
