How much would a pair of those cost?

These fish are all amazing! You never hear of them though. Is it basically because they are difficult to keep? Or is it because they might be too plain jane for main stream? Are any of these fish on a threatened or endangered list? Why are they not so readily available? Or maybe they are.... just not in a popular search?

that's good news helterskelter, keep them breeding

many wild fish are on a threatened or endangered list, some of the reasons wild fish are not so readily available is many of them are plain/ drab looking, and some can get aggressive among and  towards other fish,  and many of them can be difficult to keep or breed, lfs are not interested in them as they don't sale as well as the  colourfull  varieties

Finding these fish in the first place is difficult. We do get some shipped into the UK from other breeders, but very few are collected from the wild. Many are threatened or endangered due to other species being introduced as a food fish and out competing the native species or the locations they are found are very polluted.

We strive to keep these fish alive and here in the UK and around the world in the vain hope to make some interest in these unique fish and help to inform people of their natural beauty.

In some areas the places where they collect the fish are a bit farflung and some dont survive the journey... Many people like novice aquarists like color and aesthetics instead of personality...

Oh wow I really love these Girardinichthys viviparous, I'm sure they are hard to accuire but I would love to have a tank with these and some panda corydoras.
