Poor fish, what a horror story.

"heard flipping noises from the vicinity of her waist"

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

hrm... didn't know plecos were restricted... definitely not the best choice for smuggling in a "public area"; plecos can make a lot of noise when the feel like it.

 wonder what they would have done if she was smuggling clown loaches and they started clicking!

look like L66 King tigers, nice ones at that.

personally I'ved carried fish home under my jumper to keep them warm so I don't see any moral issues, as long as the fish were bagged well it would of been a better flight than in a box!

Poor fish? - I would rather spend 24hours (flight from UK to OZ) in a warm controled environment (I'm sure she wont of been moving about that much :)) than 2-3 days in a box getting thrown about as per the normal import process

Look like king tigers to me :) - from what I can gather from members here in Oz - most plecs are not legal (or are at least subjected to very stringent regulation) - as they can live in the native rivers etc - Probubly would have been worth a few bob :)

It think its very irresponsable of her, poor fish they must have been in very small bags to fit 51 of them in an apron without looking too obvious and it must of been very stressful for them too.

Poor fish im glad they found the fish
Yes because being euthanised by the government authorities is so much better than being bought by a serious fishkeeper who is prepared to pay extreemly high prices for a prohibited fish.

How much do u wanna bet that they stayed in those bags for hours after that picture?

Poor fish are now going to be killed :(

That's a shame. Too bad she didn't make it through, poor fishies. Although she knew the consequences beforehand if she got caught.

I read this story in the sun (beano) he other day. I bet airport authoraties probably kept em in a bag in the drugs storage room for evidence, seriously they need them for evidence so they couldnt be let free and i doubt that they just 'happend' to have a 500 gallon tank fully cycled laying about.

Woman should of got through, then maybe them plecos would be happily swimming in one of our tanks right now.

Whitey - the fish were euthanised (killed in a humane way) after they were found
