Hi all.
Thought I would introduce myself and some of the gang, we have 11 dogs in total plus Bobby the African grey, two hens and of course the fish

LOL It is actually Akitas but I dont have the room or the facilities to keep them seperate from the spitz, the old girl in the photo is my last one she is 13 now, she lost her life time companion Akita boy last year to old age. We also have two standard schnauzers

I've not been to Crufts this year yet, it is in march. I have been exhibiting there for 14 years or so, very long and exhausting day but good fun.

Yes I show the spitz and canaan, the Canaan holds the breed record for best of breeds there, he has won 5 times. I have 2 spitz and 1 canaan entered this year.

The Canaan is a pariah dog from Israel. They are a very primitive breed which has not been mucked around with by man too much. The "breed" was started in the 1930 when the Israeli defence force needed a breed that could cope with the harsh terrain and weather over there so wild living desert dogs and bedouin dogs were captured and a breeding program was started though they are no longer used for this purpose.
Wild/free living dogs are still captured and added to the breeding program as often as possible to keep the gene pool healthy.
