Most angelfish are inbred and mixing up new bloodlines is a good way to help improve the quality of the offspring.

Make sure the adult fish are fed really well for at least 2 (preferably 4)weeks before they breed. Fish that are well fed, produce better quality gametes (eggs & sperm).

I always prefer to leave baby cichlids with their parents. They do so much better and behave a lot more naturally compared to artificially hatched and reared without their parents.
