Hey,
Well 3 months ago I had a bad case of fin rot that affected a lot of my guppies. So since it has now been 3 months and all my fish have remained healthy i feel it is time for some new inmates.

My current tank:
-20 Gal, (rather deep)
-external canister filter
-Moderate planting
-gravel substrate

-1 orange guppy (the only survivor, seems happy enough on his own)
-5 Harlequin Rasbora
-around 40-50 cherry shrimp, the bloody things just keep having babies!!)
-1 freshwater muscle

so what would you guys recommend, open to all suggestions, I don't particularly want any shy fish, but as the same time I don't want anything that will hassle my other fish.

Thanks for the help.

Just for info - Are you worried about maintaining your shrimp population?

The reason I ask is that many fish we suggest would eat the baby shrimps thus preventing population growth, and other fish may well pick off adult shrimp after moulting when their shells are soft.

Would you prefer fish that wouldnt even touch the shrimp, or are you willing to lose the babies..?

Hi pscl227 ;)

A school of corydoras would be a nice addition to your tank. :D

not bothered about baby shrimp being picked off, the population is at a nice size just now for the tank, i wouldn't/don't want any more.

dont particularly like the look of corydoras, sorry!

Okay - 20 gallon - deep rather than long..

so no paticularly fast swimming species, rules out lots of tetras, but you dont mind the babies getting eaten (by the way - when your population starts dying off you can always "save" some babies and raise them externally in another pot until they are big enough not to be eaten)

You have 1 orange guppy - Male? Maybe you could get a couple more males for added colour. Or some endlers livebearers.

Kilifish may be a good option.

Can you tell us what the length and width of the tank is please so we know the footprint. Many bottom dwelling species seem suitable for your tank occupants e.g. walking tetra, (Darter Tetra) but if they are squished in with the shrimp then they might have troubles.

I've had pretty much nothing but guppies for a long time so i think now is the time to move on.........

as fas as dimensions, its 50cmx49cmx34cm

thanks for the responses, not going to buy anything for around 2-3 weeks so plenty of time to do research

Went round my LFS today and saw Bolivian Rams, never seen them in the flesh before, they looked stunning. After some research it also seems like they would make the perfect new fish for my tank?
