Is your tap water from a well or is it "city water," where they add chlorine and other undesirable things?  Chlorine may harm or even kill your fish and/or your good bacteria.
 


Its well water that is run through a water softener.

Well then tap water should be fine without adding dechlorinator.  My father does his water changes without dechlor because he's also on well water.

I add dechlorinator to my water changes as peace of mind, but I don't bother when cleaning out my filter. Just water about the same temp as the tank water
