Snails!

At the moment my tank is in the begining stages of pond snail infestation. I've purchased 4 assassin snails offline and theyll be here within a week.

MY questions are:
1) I always see the pond snails above the water line. Do I have bad quality water? Or is this a normal things?
2) Do I need to acclimate the snails coming in? They'll be in not the best quality water after a few days, and I want to make sure they survive intact.

I'd like to see other responses, but my pond snails are often above the water line and my water tests just fine. I would acclimate the snails just as you would a fish- I wouldn't think being in the same water for a bit longer to float/mix in aquarium water would cause less harm that not acclimating them.

I have heard that as water quality goes down,snails go up,so might be worth testing your water...

If they are above the waterline,squish them with your finger (or a spoon if you're squeamish... ) the fish love eating them.

And yes,float your snails..
