would a snail be fine in a tank with sand?

Not a problem at all. I have an Apple Snail in my 30 gallon tank with sand.

yup its not a problem.. mine seem to live it, iv got one in a 46.7gal and one in a 15.6 gal

thanks for the info! i'm going to pick out some snails today! i was thinking either apple or trumpet. those won't eat live plants will they?

Apples possibly, Trumpets no.

Depending on the Apple Snail species, they may eat plants.
