So, a few months ago I was finally going to cycle my 55g, and transferred some cycled filter media. Eh, it cycled for a few days but I came to the conclusion I should wait until we moved first. So i stopped, and not long after I got plagued by snails.
I thought, "I'm not feeding the tank, might as well let them die... or get a puffer "
Weeks later I have 100+! And I don't feed them! They're cannibalistic, the little rats. I've been thinking of adding a loach to my stocking plans. Eh. Isn't it wierd how snails will stand what fish can't, and thrive?

i've read that you can put a stick of cucumber in the tank at night. in the morning, snails should've covered the cucumber. you can then remove the cucumber and snails, and repeat until all snails are gone. while you're doing that, scrape the eggs off the tank walls.
