Hello guys, well i got home from dinner today, i noticed that there was this tiny snail, with a clear shell sliding up and down my glass.
What is this?
Also how has it got there?
Will it harm my fish?
And also is it safe to keep him/her in the tank? What would you guys do?

I would take it out.

If it is a pest snail, you will have an infestation soon.

For now, put it in a breeding box and try to get an ID.

I have now put it in a breeding box.
What does it need to survive, i have just put 1 flake of very very very finely crushed flake food for it.
Also how big will it grow?

Just as a tip, make sure there are no other eggs / spores about. Look around, especially near the filter and under / near any rocks in your tank. They'll thrive like crazy I have a thread somewhere talking about em.

The ones I had quite happily fed off the algae in the tank, but they also liked a good nibble of plant leaves. Lived with the fish happily and came in off some plants I put in there. It was ok for a week as there was only one Snail. Then three, then 100's literally. Clean glass, but boy too many of the things.

I have decided to keep the snail and put him back into the tank after my mom butchering me saying JUST LEAVE IT, JUST LEAVE IT,IT WONT HURT ANYTHING.
Anyway i have also spotted a second.
Will they clean my tank in anyway?
By the way how has he got there?
By the way his shell is clear, so i dont think that he is an apple snail, however this might be because he is only a day old.

EDIT: Actually i have just gone to check on my fish tank, and i saw a big one, well not a big one but big enough to see the colour of its shell.
It is like black with gold spots or it might be be dark brown.

If it's an asexual snail you will regret it.

They will clean the tank, but there will be so many it's unsightly.

They can come with new fish or plants.

I have decided to keep them all anyway as they cant make the tank go disasterously wrong.
Also yes i did recently put in a live plant about 3 weeks ago.
Oh well they look kool. :good:

They don't look cool when you can't see into the tank clearly. :/

If they are asexual, and become a problem, get a loach, then return it when the deed is done.

Well do you suggest that i get rid of them or keep them.
Also what unexpensive tropical fish will eat them.

EDIT: Will bristlenose plecs eat them.
P.S. Do you know a list of dwarf plecs?

So far i haev seen about 3, so young that there shells are clear.
But there is one bigger one with a dark brown and gold like spots.
