Small Snails ?

Have started to notice a few small snails in my tank, was just wondering the background to this, what causes it etc.

Any info would be great.

most likely hitchhikers from a plant they can become a pain so suggest removing them or monitoring there reproduction

I don't have any 'live' plants in my tank tho'
