I've finally decided

Corys sure, betta no...unless you like the torn fin look. Not to mention D. margritus are very active and might stress him out. And if not he might stress everyone else out...by murdering them all one by one.

Hmmm..... just wondering what else I could use as a centerpiece that may complement that set up?

If it were I, I would make my shoals of the kubotai, brigattae, and margritus larger and enjoy a tank of pure nanofish wo the Siamese FF. Your tank will also seem larger in effect this way. Imo, Corycats are always a good idea and adding them would be smart, biologically sound, and entertaining.

You have a majority of river species listed apart from the Danio. If you have a strong current at the surface, a labyrinth fish isn't the best option, as they will use up most of their energy swimming to the surface for air.

So now I've changed my Oase 100 filter to a 200 which filters 650 litres per hour, I have found that I can add a few more fish.

So as well as the Microdevario kubotai, Boraras brigattae and Danio margritus, I am thinking of adding 3 or 4 corydoras and possibly a siamese fighting male as the centerpiece. What do people think please?
I think you should leave the Siamese Fighting Fish out but that’s just me . I do love that you used that very old term rather than Betta 🥰 .

Yeah, but I'm very old also.... 😋 Think I will do as bgarthe advises and just stick to a couple more of the other types. All good here.

I have kept all 3 of the species you mention. All are much better in larger groups. At least 10 each, although I would have 20 - but I think that's probably too much for an 80 litre. No need for coconut hides with any of those fish. No harm if you like the look but they won't use them. Lots of plants to allow the CPD to hide (from each other).
